The OASIS Peer Tutor Training Certification Course provides a focused introduction to the principles and practices of effective peer tutoring. Aligned with CRLA standards, the course equips students with essential skills in communication, tutoring strategies, and professional conduct. Participants learn to support diverse learners, facilitate structured sessions, and promote independent academic success. Upon completion, students are prepared to serve as competent peer tutors who contribute to a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

The OASIS English Assessment Test is a comprehensive, CRLA-aligned diagnostic tool designed to evaluate college students’ proficiency in academic reading, writing, and critical thinking. The assessment measures students’ ability to analyze arguments, apply grammar and editing skills in context, interpret academic texts, and produce structured written responses.

Through four targeted sections—Rhetorical & Critical Analysis, Grammar & Editing, Reading & Argument Evaluation, and Academic Writing—the assessment provides a holistic view of student performance across both higher-order concerns (e.g., thesis development, argumentation, organization) and lower-order concerns (e.g., grammar, punctuation, clarity).

The OASIS Math Assessment Test is designed to provide a clear picture of each student’s current math skills, understanding, and problem-solving abilities. This assessment is not a pass-or-fail exam; instead, it serves as a diagnostic tool that highlights individual strengths and areas that may need improvement. By identifying specific skill gaps, whether in foundational concepts, computational accuracy, algebraic reasoning, or higher-level thinking, the assessment equips peer tutors with the information they need to offer personalized, effective support.

The results help tutors tailor their sessions to each student’s unique learning needs, ensuring that time spent together is targeted, efficient, and impactful. Ultimately, the OASIS Math Assessment Test helps create a more productive tutoring experience by fostering intentional instruction, boosting student confidence, and supporting long-term academic success in mathematics.
